Tell us about your career goals.

I started as a pharmacy clerk in high school, then completed a formal training program at a community college. I now have 30 years of experience in various areas of pharmacy and currently teach a technician program as well as sterile compounding!

How have PTCB’s certificates helped you along your career path?

The PTCB CPhT-Adv credential allowed me to help during the COVID-19 pandemic by becoming an immunization provider. It also gives me recognition where I teach and sets an example for my students.

What advice would you give pharmacy technicians as they explore their unique career paths?

I tell all my students to take advantage of all the certifications available to them. Whatever setting you are in, strive to be the best. Strong and competent technicians will push us to the next level as a profession.
