Pharmacy technicians play an essential role in pharmacy practice. With appropriate training and education, they are vital in advancing patient safety. As the program director of an ASHP-accredited advanced-level educational program, it is my passion not only to ensure my students are competent in their field, but to help them excel in their chosen profession. 

My job is both to educate my students and help them find their place in the ever-changing world of pharmacy as professional duties increase for technicians. As pharmacy technicians take on more responsibilities in their facilities, education and training are critical when it comes to patient safety. This cannot be overstated. PTCB is supporting career advancement for technicians by providing these necessary credentials, and is paving the way for advanced technician roles to continue to expand.
