The coronavirus (COVID-19) situation continues to evolve. During this challenging time, PTCB is here to support you.

For Pharmacy Technicians

For Those Who Plan to Test:

  • PTCB exams are delivered in-person nationwide at Pearson VUE testing centers. PTCB Assessment-Based Certificate Exams are also administered through online proctored testing. Check local guidelines for COVID-19 requirements.

For Recertification Candidates:

  • Visit our Continuing Education (CE) Directory, upgraded in October 2023 to create a comprehensive online hub of ACPE-accredited CEs for pharmacy technicians. By integrating with the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education’s (ACPE) Pharmacists’ Learning Assistance Network (P.L.A.N.®), the directory allows pharmacy technicians to more simply find CE activities to help them meet the requirements for keeping their credentials current.

Gain Temporary Licensure to Work in Another State

CPhTs can gain temporary licensure for employment in another state through the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) Passport program. NABP Passport submits and tracks technicians’ emergency requests for temporary state licensures or authorizations to work outside a home state. More than 15 states participate, and the number is growing.

For organizations

Special Reduced Fees

During this difficult time, employer participants enrolled in Direct Billing can save between 15% and 40% on fees for the CPhT and the CSPT credential. Direct Billing is a simple way for organizations to pay for your pharmacy technicians to earn or renew PTCB credentials. If your organization has not yet enrolled, submit a Help Center request to enroll. No further action is required for those already enrolled, and the new pricing will be reflected on the Direct Biller’s next invoice.
