Educators who join PTCB's free Educator Program are offered four simple ways to pay for candidates to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE). We eliminate the hassle of cumbersome reimbursement paperwork, and give sponsors a streamlined online process for identifying eligible candidates and making payments.
How to Get Started
To become a sponsor, please fill out the Sponsorship Registration Agreement and choose from one of the four sponsorship options below. Forms will be processed within 10 business days of receipt, and further instructions will be emailed to the sponsor at that time. (Note: In order to qualify, potential sponsors must first join the PTCB Educator Program and thereby become an Advocate Educator.)
Sponsors are asked to choose one of four options below:
- Vouchers: Ideal for sponsors who want greater control over when their candidates apply for the exam; vouchers are issued at the sponsor’s discretion. Sponsors reserve vouchers for candidates online. After the sponsor assigns the voucher number, the candidate will fill out the standard online application and enter the voucher number in lieu of payment.
- Self-identification: Ideal for sponsors who may not know who from their organization is applying for the exam; this method allows sponsors to approve on demand. Candidates complete the online certification application and identify their sponsors in lieu of payment. A candidate will not be authorized to schedule a testing appointment until approved by the sponsor.
- IP Address Identification: Ideal for sponsors whose candidates are applying from a particular computer network; restricted access to the network is key to ensure control. Candidates who access the online application from a specific company IP address (or addresses) will automatically be identified by the PTCB portal as eligible for sponsorship. PTCB will contact you to determine approved IP addresses, as required.
- Pre-approval: Ideal for sponsors who have a pre-determined list of eligible candidates; candidates may also be added or removed from the lists. The sponsor will provide PTCB with a list of pre-approved candidates using a unique identifier such as employee ID. During the online application process, candidates will enter this same identifier and immediately proceed with their application without payment.
After a sponsorship application has been approved, the sponsor will receive a username and password to access the online portal. Our online portal allows sponsors to manage sponsored candidates, add and withdraw sponsorship of candidates, and create reporting.
Each month, PTCB will email sponsors an invoice for sponsored candidates who took the PTCE.
Please note that candidates must follow PTCB's cancellation policy or sponsors will incur charges for candidates with a 'no-show' status.
