PTCB Revises High School Eligibility Requirements
PTCB has modified our eligibility requirements to allow certification candidates who are within 60 days of acquiring a high school diploma or equivalent education diploma to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE). This change allows students nearing completion of high school to take the PTCE before graduation so they can get a head start on acquiring their PTCB credential. The eligibility expansion took effect on August 22, 2017. Read more.

SSgt Johnson Named 2017 PTCB CPhT of the Year
PTCB has named Staff Sergeant Mary Johnson the 2017 PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) of the Year©. SSgt Johnson is the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of Pharmacy Services at Geilenkirchen NATO Air Base in Germany, the largest technician-led pharmacy in the US Air Force serving 2,800 military members and dependents. She will be recognized at a reception at the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Midyear Conference in Orlando, FL. Read more.

PTCB Experts To Share Insights
PTCB is known for expertise in certification program standards and practices. When test publishers gather at the Association of Test Publishers (ATP) Innovations Conference in February, they will have a chance to hear from PTCB experts at three sessions. PTCB’s Associate Director of Psychometrics, Xiaohui (Dawn) Zhao, PhD, and Associate Director of Test Development, Tina Chang, MS, will share their insights on a series of topics. Read more.

Impact of Recent Hurricanes on PTCB CPhTs
Thousands of PTCB CPhTs who serve patients in pharmacies in the southern US, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and their loved ones, have been adversely affected by recent hurricanes. If you are located in a FEMA-designated disaster area, PTCB will work with you so you can maintain your certification. PTCB will also work to ensure initial certification applicants are not penalized for the impact the disaster has had on their exam appointments. Read more.
