Executive Director & CEO
Everett B. McAllister, RPh, MPA, is the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). In this role, he will build upon PTCB's rich legacy and lead the organization in advancing healthy lives through pharmacy technician certification and recognizing the work that over 250,000 Certified Pharmacy Technicians nationwide do to support this mission.
With over 27 years of health care leadership experience, Colonel (Retired) McAllister held senior pharmacy positions within the United States Air Force and Department of Defense, as well as executive-level positions at teaching medical centers, ambulatory clinics, and health-systems across the country.
Prior to joining PTCB, Mr. McAllister served as the Deputy Director of the Pharmaceutical Operations Directorate, TRICARE Management Activity, within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense in Washington, DC. He also served as the senior Department of Defense's (DoD) military pharmacist and policy advisor, responsible for managing a complex, multi-venued $7.6 billion pharmacy program, impacting over 9.6 million DoD beneficiaries worldwide. From 2005 to 2008, he served as the Pharmacy Consultant to the Air Force Surgeon General and the 11th Associate Corps Chief for Pharmacy in the Biomedical Sciences Corps.
Mr. McAllister, a decorated service veteran, entered the Air Force directly out of pharmacy school, where he participated in the school's Reserve Officer Training Commission program. He earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of South Carolina in 1984 and a Masters of Public Administration from Auburn University in 1997.
In 2011, Mr. McAllister was the recipient of the American Pharmacists Association's Distinguished Federal Pharmacist Award.
