Jobs at PTCB

Imagine Tackling Big Challenges with Great People

As certification and pharmacy professionals solely focused on pharmacy technicians, patient safety is at the center of everything we do at PTCB. Striving for excellence means working with a team made up of people who are dedicated to our mission and to their work, and excited for what’s to come.

What We Offer

PTCB operates fully remotely and stays connected through online communication and video conferencing. Our staff meets twice yearly for team retreats at various locations across the United States.

We're dedicated to taking the best possible care of our team. PTCB encourages staff well-being through comprehensive health care coverage, open and transparent leadership, tuition reimbursement, work from home expense reimbursement, 401(k), bonuses, and generous paid leave, plus days off for many US Federal government holidays.

We want you to enjoy working here, so we invest in training that helps you do your job better, host informative staff meetings, plan social events to connect with your colleagues, and encourage you to enjoy your scheduled paid time off. We strive to help our staff make time for what really counts, both in and beyond our jobs.

More Employee Perks

We stay connected to make sure you feel part of the team, no matter where you are. We regularly host (virtual) trivia events where staff are encouraged to share more about what interests them.  We’ve been known to convene a book club for those staff who want to participate. And we share life updates, recipes, show recommendations and more in internal newsletters.

Equal Opportunity Employer

PTCB hires great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because we believe our staff and volunteers should reflect the diversity of PTCB’s community. We seek team members from a wide range of ages, gender identities, orientations, geographies, ethnicities, and experiences to join our team. By fostering an equitable and inclusive environment for our staff and volunteers, and upholding our commitment to patient safety, we fulfill our organization’s mission and help to advance inclusion within the pharmacy community.

Our Core Values

  • Excellence: Our commitment lies in delivering exceptional products and services, both internally and externally. Our understanding of the market stems from our strong partnerships with the pharmacy-centric Board of Governors, practitioners, Boards of Pharmacy, employers, educators, and other stakeholders. The pursuit of excellence is ingrained in our company culture, reflected in our offerings, and embodied in our mission.

Mere adequacy is not satisfactory. We assess the validity of our programs and utilize the collected data to guide future iterations, whether they are internal or external processes. We actively listen to our stakeholders and continually seek feedback to enhance our performance, products, and services.

When we succeed, our pharmacy technicians succeed, and patient care and safety is elevated.

  • Collaboration: Collaboration enables us to achieve more than we can individually. When more voices are heard, our relationships are strengthened, and more meaningful decisions are made. Collaboration is inclusive and is achieved through participation in teams, surveys, sharing, and communication across departments, stakeholders, and volunteers. Greater collaboration will further our mission and move toward achieving our vision of better patient care and increased safety.

  • Transparency: Through transparency, PTCB builds trust, increases credibility, and promotes accountability.  It involves sharing both the good and the bad news. Clear and honest communication with customers and stakeholders builds trust and loyalty. Fostering an environment of open communication increases employee engagement and helps us all feel valued and included. Transparency also promotes ethical behavior and contributes to the long-term sustainability of PTCB.

  • Respect: Respect is fundamental to our culture, both internally and externally. We strive to recognize and appreciate the inherent worth and dignity of all individuals associated with the organization. This involves treating others with courtesy, extending grace, fairness, and consideration, regardless of their background, position, or characteristics. Being open, honest, and responsive to internal and external feedback enables us to stay competitive in the industry and serve as the leader in the profession.

  • Integrity: PTCB consistently operates in an ethical manner to enhance patient care and safety. Certificants are not offered shortcuts to earn credentials. We offer qualified technicians a path to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and competencies in multiple areas of practice. To assist technicians along the path to earning these credentials, we provide high-quality customer service to address their needs and questions. We ask prospective and active CPhTs to adhere to a code of conduct.

  • Continuous Improvement: It’s not enough to be the industry leader in pharmacy technician credentialing. PTCB constantly evaluates its programs, products, and services to ensure they meet the needs of the profession and patients. We work proactively with stakeholders to ensure exam content is current, relevant, reliable, and accurate. We evaluate our internal processes to ensure our customers have access to the information they need and their inquiries are responded to in a timely manner.

Continuous improvement also involves engaging PTCB employees at all levels in the improvement process. By encouraging collaboration, teamwork, and open communication, we promote a culture of learning, adaptability, and innovation, driving PTCB toward excellence and enabling us to deliver greater value to stakeholders.
